The Unity Residence is a modern farmhouse inspired custom home designed by Architect David Stumpf.  Designed to fit within the constrained bounds of an extremely unique site the form of this home is a reflection of those buildable bounds. The owner’s had expressed their fondness of the modern farmhouse style, and having lived in a home that they felt had very little character wished that their new home would be filled with simple details and charm to help build in a traditional sense of character.  Harkening back to a simpler time, and intended to be a cozy retreat from the everyday realities of modern life, this home is a true "modern farmhouse." Designed to tell the story of a farmhouse, I intended the home to look as if it had existed in this spot since before the turn of the last century with the look of a traditional homestead that grew into its current form over time as needs changed and requirements of the home expanded.
