David Stumpf, AIA, NCARB

FOUNDER & MANAGING PRINCIPAL

I studied architecture and construction at Kent State University receiving my bachelors degree in 2011. Shortly thereafter I moved to San Antonio Texas to continue my studies, receiving my Master of Architecture degree in 2015 after completing a 3 year program at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a course concentration in building science, historic preservation, and sustainability. After graduation I moved to Pittsburgh and completed my two year architectural “Intern Development Program” while working at the office of Margittai Architects in Pittsburgh’s historic South Side neighborhood. There I worked on many historic preservation, custom residential, and small commercial projects throughout the Pittsburgh region. In 2018 I went to work for the offices of WDG Architecture in Dallas, Texas with the goal of gaining large project experience. While at WDG I had the opportunity to work with large national development firms such as Bromley Companies, Crescent Communities, The Guild, Mintwood Real Estate, and The Related Companies in the design and construction of office buildings, boutique hotels, 250 to 300 unit apartment complexes, and even a beautiful 20 story skyscraper. I left WDG in 2020, taking that knowledge with me and moving back to Pittsburgh to start my own boutique practice of architecture, now know as David Stumpf Architecture, LLC. I am currently licensed to practice architecture in New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Texas. If you are outside of those states, and want to work with me please reach out, and we will discuss your project. If it is a good fit, I’d be happy to become licensed in your state as well. I welcome clients of all walks of life, and projects of all scopes. My number one goal is to do good work with good people. I care deeply about my profession, and the world I am helping to shape. I hope to one day leave a legacy I can be proud of, and a world I would want to live in and experience.

When I’m not hard at work designing new homes and offices you might find me out on the golf course with friends working on my golf swing, or playing in one of the competitive sand volleyball tournaments around town.
